In the August 2025 issue of Repairer Driven News, Teresa Moss wrote about an increasing number of calibration related claims agains repair shops. After accidents, lawyers were investigating vehicle collision history, prior repairs, and if those shops had made reasonable efforts to assure customer vehicles were being properly calibrated.

They found many cases where not only were calibrations skipped - but the shop had no relationships with calibration services, or trained ADAS techs in-house.

Attorneys discovered that most vehicles now store calibration histories in the ECU. What calibrations were performed, when they were performed, and even the serial numbers of the tools that were used.

ADAS On Call stores all of our calibration history electronically, with cloud-based backups. We have are ASE Certified as Advanced L4 Calibration Specialists. The highest certification available from ASE - or anyone else.

We found this on the web site of The Cooper Firm, an Atlanta based firm now specializing on this an area they specialize in. This is not good for collision centers:

Before every calibration, we check for the OEM policy, and the FSM guidelines. We are through, precise, and document our process and results. We protect the customer by being the best, and protect you from these kind of claims.
